Messengers and DeliveryAs a business traveler in China, you can't afford to waste time. Unfortunately, even minor tasks such as booking tickets or paying a utility bill can easily devour half a day. You need a way to pass these annoying trips over to someone else, so that you can spend your valuable time the way you want. Have you considered using bike messengers? They can buy and deliver train tickets, bring packages or provide many other services. For an almost embarrassingly low fee, there are many companies that will dispatch messengers to take care of your small errands. Shipping, handling, and transport in China tends to be far cheaper than in the West. This is due to government subsidies and the huge labor pool, which essentially prevents the establishment of a minimum wage. Take advantage of this situation and save yourself time, money, and frustration. Also, don't forget take-out food. With no minimum order and no expectation of tipping the delivery person, a hot meal delivered directly to your door can be a real blessing. Even without tips, taxi drivers, waiters, and delivery boys are generally hard-working and conscientious. Just be aware, very few restaurants or delivery companies have English speaking staff, so you may need to explain your requirements to your interpreter or guide. Service and tipping are interesting features of living in China. Keep checking MyeFaxChina.com for a more detailed discussion, coming soon.
